Are animals an important part of your life? Have you thought about joining a local advisory board?

Whether you are a veterinarian, humane society representative, member of a kennel club, a hunter, a livestock owner, or just a Volusia County resident passionate about animals, you might be an excellent fit for the Volusia County Animal Advisory Board.

According to a release, the board is appointed by the Volusia County Council, to make recommendations about the county's animal control ordinance, legislation, and regulations. It also hears appeals on licensing problems and recommends, regulates, and sets standards of procedure for collecting, care, custody, and disposal of animals at large.

Learn more and apply at www.volusia.org/advisory and click on the list of boards.

For information about the duties and responsibilities of this and other county advisory boards, contact Deputy Clerk Karissa Green at kgreen@volusia.org or 386-736-5920, ext. 12613.
