Common allergic conditions include:
Children and adults suffering from this condition typically have symptoms of runny nose, nasal congestion, postnasal drip, often accompanied by nasal itching. They often report a history of sinus infections. Common trigges include indoor and outdoor environmental allergens such as dust mites, pet hair and dander, pollen and mold.
Eyes are often itchy and teary. Eyes can feel gritty and dry. Allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis often coexist. In addition, some people develop itchy eyelids. Scratching the itchy eyelids can cause a rash and infections.
Onset of asthma can be in childhood or later in life. Asthma symptoms often include wheeze and shortness of breath but some patients may present with a dry persistent cough. Pulmonary function testing is performed to diagnose asthma and separate it from other breathing problems.
Eczema or atopic dermatitis is an intensely itchy skin condition. Itching and scratching will cause a waxing and waning rash most typically present behind one's knees, in the elbow creases, behind the ears and often on hands and ankles. Food and environmental allergens may trigger itching.
Hives or welts may appear without apparent reasons or may be a reaction to a medication or food. Hives are occasionally associated with angioedema or swelling of face, lips extremities.
Allergic reactions to foods can cause stomach and intestinal symptoms, skin conditions and more rarely acute respiratory problems.
Recurrent or chronic infections, especially sinus or chest infections can be the result of low antibody production.
Fire Ant allergy:
