The Daytona Beach Police Explorers, a volunteer youth organization that develops character in young people through community involvement, is hosting an open house for teenagers who need volunteer hours or want to learn about law enforcement.

The open house will be held on January 13, at 6 p.m. at the Daytona Beach Police Department Headquarters off Valor Blvd.

Daytona Beach Police Explorers program provides the following benefits for its members:

  • Develop a greater understanding between the community and the police.
  • Gain experience and knowledge to decide if they would like to pursue a career in law enforcement.
  • Give members the chance to earn volunteer service hours through a well-balanced calendar of activities.

Volunteers must be 14 to 18 years old, enrolled in high school or home school with a 2.5 GPA or higher, and have permission from a parent or guardian.

Call (386)682-9601 or email SaultGary@DBPD.us to apply.
