Dr. Vance E. Wilson, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Wilson was born in England at a U.S. Air Force Base. He received his Bachelor’s Degree with high honors in biological and organic chemistry from The University of Michigan (GO BLUE!) in 1981. He then received his medical degree ‘with high distinction” and ranked top of the class at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 1985.

Dr. Wilson completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern, Parkland Memorial Hospital and the Dallas Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Dallas, Texas in 1988. He then completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1992. While there, he completed an advanced fellowship in interventional cardiology and was promoted to the faculty of the medical school.

Dr. Wilson joined the practice in 1992. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is on staff at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center and Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He served as Chief of Cardiology at Halifax Health from 1999-2009 and is currently Chief of Medicine and Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Wilson is an active investigator in clinical trials researching new cardiovascular therapies. He gives invited lectures regularly at hospital conferences and grand rounds as well as continuing medical education symposiums. In addition, he gives frequent lectures that adhere to FDA guidelines paid for by pharmaceutical companies on new cardiovascular drugs.

Dr. Wilson is a strong advocate of proper diet and regular exercise. He is married and has four children.
