Florida Department of Health is Recommending Attendees of Daytona Bike Week, Who Show Symptoms of Coronavirus to Self-Isolate.

As of yesterday, three new cases of COVID-19, have been confirmed according to the Florida Department of Health.

In the first case, a 56-year-old male from Miami-Dade County tested positive for the virus, is in isolation, and is travel related.

The other two cases a 70-year-old-male from Broward County, and a 63-year-old male from New York, who is currently in St. Johns County both tested positive for COVID-19. The case out of Broward County has the man isolated until cleared by Public Health officials.

It has been reported that the man, was an attendee of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) COnfe3rence in Tampa which was held March 4-6. There is an epidemiological investigation underway.

The 63-year-old New Yorker is currently in isolation and will remain isolated until cleared by public health officials. This is a travel-related case, as the man traveled down to Florida to attend Daytona Bike Week in Daytona Beach. The New York Department of Health has taken the lead in the epidemiological investigation for this case.

Daytona Bike Week is currently underway and ends Sunday, March 15.

The Health Department recommends that all attendees of either the EMS Conference in Tampa or Daytona Bike Week who show signs of symptoms to contact their County Health Department or Health care provider and self-isolate for 14 days.
