Our 4 Programs Helping The Poor & Homeless

• The Feed-a-Family homeless prevention program helps keep 2,700 families monthly that live below the poverty line in their homes by reducing their grocery bill. This along with utility and rent assistance leaves families more funds for rent, helping prevent homelessness. Services are provided from our 3 permanent service centers and using distributed services from 14 satellite locations at local schools, churches and from our mobile units.

• The Bridge of Hope daily hot meal program provides over 144,000 meals to people in need each year, each balanced with protean, vegetables, fruits, salads, a starch & dessert, this is often the only quality nutrition our homeless guests have.

• HUM Center Homeless Direct Services include laundry, showers, case management, mail acceptance, ID’s, clothing and computer access. HUM has forged partnerships to provide medical & mental health clinics, cold weather shelters & Traveler’s Aid.

• The HUM Family Shelter provides emergency housing to over 90 families with children each year, providing a safe place to stay, access to all of the services listed above plus 3 meals a day, tutoring, life skills and budgeting classes. Most families staying for the 6 month transitional program return to permanent housing.
