Inner Compass Eco Adventures is hosting a paddle tour event on Saturday, November 21.

With the Thanksgiving season upon us, giving thanks and providing a hand to those in need comes to the forefront of everyone’s mind. In light of the giving spirit, Inner Compass Eco Adventures will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to Halifax Urban Ministries – A local non-profit organization, that provides services to those in need, which includes a food pantry.

The food donation event will include a paddle board and kayak tour at Port Orange Causeway Park, off of Dunlawton Avenue in Port Orange.

“Foodbanks are always in need of food, and with a lot of people out of work, we wanted to do an event like this close to Thanksgiving,” said Greg Bartholomew, Owner of Inner Compass Eco Adventure.

The tour will take participants out along the Mangrove Islands to see the beachside skyline, dolphins, shorebirds, pelicans, and much more.

Participants of the paddle board and kayak tour are invited to donate non-perishable food items on the day of the tour. All food donated will stay in the greater Halifax area.

“The paddle board community is full of very giving people – They’re very spiritual, love the outdoors and love to give back,” Said Bartholomew “This event is a great way for people to get outdoors, exercise, and give back to the community.”

Tickets for those without equipment start at $25.

Participants with both paddle board and kayak equipment can select the BYOB option to join the tour at no charge. Registration to the event can be found

here.

Bartholomew also mentioned future paddle board tour events, like a Christmas Carol Paddle, which will be announced closer to the Christmas season.

“We’re a relatively new business, and accept all participants to our paddle tours, no matter the experience level. I’m willing to teach people what they need to be successful.”

All food donated during the event will stay in the greater Halifax area.
