Around 10:30 a.m. this morning, a structure fire broke out in Daytona Beach, on the corner of A1A and Lenox Ave.

According to release by the Daytona Beach Fire Department, multiple units from DBFD, were on the scene this morning and began battling the blaze that spread from the shed located in the back of the house to the main dwelling.

Although the house has sustained damage, crews from DBFD (including Daytona Beach Shores) were able to save the home from being burned down entirely. The shed, and a carport in the rear of the home, are a total loss.

The end room of the Economy Inn Motel that faces the rear of the home sustained damage from heat and smoke to the exterior wall, and the interior of the room.

The cause of the fire was not determined on the scene, but it is under investigation with the State Fire Marshal.

Two adult residents and their dog were able to exit the home without injuries and will be assisted by the Red Cross.
