Suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old in Daytona Beach.

Raheem Harris, 29, of Daytona Beach, was arrested on Wednesday, November 29, 2022, as the suspect in a fatal shooting that claimed the life of D’Shawn J McLaury, 21, on Sunday, November 27, outside of the Hookah Pub off Seabreeze Avenue in Daytona Beach.

McLaury was shot just before 4 a.m. after walking out of the Hookah Pub after an alleged argument with Harris. First responders found McLaury near Seabreeze and Wild Olive just moments after leaving the club and took him to Halifax Medical Health Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Detectives with Daytona Beach Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit investigated the incident deeming the shooting a homicide.

The Daytona Beach Police Department conducted a search warrant on Wednesday at an apartment off Jean Street, where Harris resided. A 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun was in the closet of the master bedroom, along with .40 Cal ammunition inside a Glock Box in the rear bedroom, where officers also found Harris’ identification.

According to reports, based on the discovery of evidence collected, Harris was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. Daytona Beach Police Department seized the shotgun and ammunition as evidence.
