In cases dating back over a decade, three women were murdered between 2005 - 2006. Laquetta Gunther, Julie Green, and Iwana Patton’s murder cases until recently have all been left unsolved but that all changes now that the accused ‘Daytona Serial Killer’ is currently behind bars at the Volusia County Branch Jail.

Robert Hayes, 37, was processed into the Jail on Wednesday and will be appearing in court today after DNA evidence linked him to the murders of the three women 14 years ago.

Hayes, a graduate from Bethune-Cookman University’s Criminal Justice Program out of West Palm Beach, had matching DNA that was found on another victim, Rachel Bey, 32,  from South Florida that linked him to the ‘Daytona Serial’ Murders. DNA found on Bey’s arm initially matched Hayes, which allowed the Florida Department of Genetic Genealogy Team to match DNA found from the three previous cases.

Hayes will be appearing in Volusia County Courts for the first time today and is currently being held in the VCBJ with no bond.
