Ken Strickland was elected to the vacant Zone 2 seat on Daytona Beach’s City Commission during a special election on November 2, with 52.4 percent of the votes.

The vacant seat became available following the resignation of Commissioner Aaron Delgado, the representative of Zone 2, from the City Commission in July after he purchased a home outside the Zone 2 area.

According to a release, Strickland will be sworn in on November 17 at 6 p.m. before the City Commission meeting in the Commission Chambers at City Hall in Daytona Beach.
