According to a release, Volusia County Schools creates an online Technology Handbook and Parent and Student Technical Guide to support families’ digital learning experience as it launches the new district-wide Technology 1:1 initiative.

“Laptops are being distributed to thousands of VCS middle and high school students this month, and the rollout is on-schedule and has been successful” Chief Information Officer Clint Griffin told the Volusia County School Board on Tuesday.

Students in middle and high schools are receiving Dell Latitude 11-3190 2-in-1 laptops.

“Each school has developed its device deployment plan, with some waiting for the second semester to begin this week. Students are required to submit a Device Check Out & Acknowledgement Form before receiving their school laptop,” Griffin said.

Also, more than 1,100 Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga 2-in-1 laptops have been provided to teachers to upgrade their technology in the past two months.

The program was expanded to include elementary teachers and teachers-on-assignment.
