The Daytona Beach Police Department is investigating a double homicide, which claimed the lives of a married couple over the weekend near the intersection of North Wild Olive Avenue and Riverview Boulevard.

Just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 6, Terry Aultman,48, and Brenda Aultman, 55, – both residents of Daytona Beach – were found covered in blood and with multiple stab wounds and lacerations to their bodies.

The Police Department was notified of the homicide by a male and a female witness after they found the man lying face-down on his chest and the woman lying face-up on her back in a grassy area next to the sidewalk at the southeast corner of Wild Olive and Riverview.

Paramedics declared both deceased at the scene, and the bodies are now with the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s office to determine an exact cause of death.

According to reports, detectives found two bicycles near the bodies. It appears the victims were riding their bicycles home after participating in Bike Week festivities when the attack happened.

“We will spare no expense and leave no stone unturned in order to solve this case,” said Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young. “I assure you that our detectives are doing all they can to bring justice to the loved ones of these victims.”

Daytona Beach Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is working to determine the motive for this attack and identify whoever was involved in these murders. Police are currently searching for a person of interest in this case. He is a man of an unknown race wearing light-colored pants and possibly carrying a backpack.

If anyone has any information on this incident, contact Detective Collin Howell at (386) 671-5257 or regarding Case 220003866.
